Birth Center

No one will experience the miracle of birth exactly the way you do. We believe each mother and each child is unique. Our aim is to provide a variety of services and amenities to meet your particular medical, practical and emotional needs. We want to make the birth experience a meaningful and joyful time for you.

  • Eighteen elegantly appointed single room maternity suites allow mothers to share the birth experience with family in a beautiful, home-like atmosphere, staying in the same room for labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care.
     
  • Prenatal Education Classes provided include:  Childbirth Preparation, Breastfeeding, Sibling, and Baby's First Year.
  • Prepared Childbirth Classes
    • Six week Prepared Childbirth Classes - The first two weeks of this six-week course offer information about a variety of choices available to parents for a satisfying, healthy delivery. It covers the stages of labor and delivery. Pain management strategies, including relaxation and breathing, are covered throughout this course. The final three weeks are designed to prepare for early parenting. Also included are practical strategies to care for a newborn and challenges as a new mother.
    • Saturday Childbirth Preparation - Prenatal classes are also held on the second and third Saturdays of each month. This condensed version of the six-week course is divided into two Saturdays. The first Saturday session covers information about labor, delivery and pain management strategies. The second Saturday focuses on parenting, newborn care and postpartum issues. These classes provide a convenient alternative for couples who work evenings or travel.
  • Sibling Class - This class is suited for sisters and brothers ages 3 - 10. Focus is placed on older siblings and the important role they play. Learning centers are utilized to provide a hands-on experience. Helpful hints for parents re also covered.

  • Best Start Breast-feeding Class Expectant parents are offered practical tools and techniques to help make breastfeeding a positive, successful experience for mother and child. This class is offered the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month and is taught by International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.

  • Baby's First Year Class This class is recommended when baby is 6 - 8 weeks old. Topics covered include: Developmental milestones in the first year, home safety, calming your baby and much more. It is also a time to interact with others experiencing the same parenting challenges.

  • 24-hour Pregnancy Helpline is available because every question deserves an answer. Our nurses can make referrals to a physician, answer questions and help find the information needed during pregnancy. Call to speak to a nurse.
     
  • NICU A nine-bed level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit providing excellent care for babies that need additional medical attention. The N.I.C.U. is staffed by registered nurses and a board-certified neonatalogist who use the latest medical technology.
     
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultants will visit breastfeeding mothers during thier hospital stay to answer questions, give instructions and assist with any problems.  The lactation consultants are available by phone for questions after mothers return home.
